Note to self.

When taking (soup) to work, put it in a bag.  When taking (soup + clothes) to work, double bag it.

When taking (borscht + clothes) to work, triple bag it or maybe consider the benefits of going hungry.

I see: Young woman biking in a frilly white tshirt and long jeans on, long unhelmeted hair flowing in the wind and iPod earbuds in.

I think: “Hmmm, thats not a best practice.”

Other signs would be the start of season ulty haiku that we composed (complete with interpretive dance).  That’s right, no longer a blood thirsty haka but a peaceful haiku.

Think about it. 

• How is it possible that every direction I ride is into the wind?
• If you answer a cellphone while riding, should you pull over?
• Why are so many people passing me?

I got a call just as I was preparing dinner this evening.

(ring ring) “Hi, is 24601 in? Hi, I’m calling on behalf of your alumni association.”

Right, go on…. I’m preparing myself for the inevitable appeal for…

“I’m just calling to tell you that we received your recent donation and… well… that’s it. Thank you for supporting your alumni.”

That’s it? I think its part of a ploy to keep me off balance and soften me up for their next call.

But its nice.

Dear world, it has been a topsy-turvy weekend and here we are on Monday and we’re still all over the place.

Why does doing the right thing seem so hard?
