February 2010

900 million gets me what?

Are the low flying helicopters really necessary for downtown olympic security?

Sandra Boynton says

Sandra Boynton says that rhinoceroses snort and snuff. Well, so does our son, makes us not sleep enough.

Of course, I’m in a good enough mood to post and rhyme, so guess it can’t be that bad. :-)

Wanted – Olympic Podium

Posted the following to Craigslist with a link to this post.

WTB Looking for one podium. Will be used for current Winter Olympics, so podium must be available prior to February 28th 2010. Buyer is a country with podium aspirations. Discretion is important. Willing to pay up to $120M in Canadian funds.

PS: If you’re here visiting from Craigslist, I’m a Canadian who wishes we were doing better. Maybe we made a mistake by proclaiming we were going to own the podium — chest-thumping about results seems un-Canadian. Canadian pride, however, is always in fashion.

It’s called an update

It's need a very long time since I posted. A lot of changes since then.

I moved. Across the street. Moving is one of those really annoying things I hate doing. It takes a lot to make me want to move. The whole prospect of having to pack everything up, take everything apart, and move it around is not enjoyable. Moving across the street is no easier than moving across the city.

The new place is about 840 square feet, approximately 320 bigger than the old place.

I went to Switzerland in November for 3 weeks. There's a lot of pictures I haven't had time to put up, so that will have to wait. This was more of a visit and meet the family sort of thing, but we managed to fit in some days around Zurich, Berne, Basel and of course Langnau.

I really need to get caught up. I actually just wanted to express my opinions about the Olympics but I figured I should finish/start with the updating first.

Super bowl commercials

I can’t say any of them were as good as I remember other years being but a few were ok.

Introducing David Lau dot ca

That’d be our second son’s website. I suppose I’ll be webmastering it for a while, until he figures out that it isn’t dad’s strong point. Maybe domain names will be a quaint memory by then. David Lau.

Mom and babe are doing great. 8lb 6oz. Has already gotten a big hug from his big brother, Trevor Lau. That makes me happy.
