New Years resolutions

I guess most people have a New Years resolution that involves some sort of "Get in shape" idea. I finally got around to doing my bit... went for a run with Charles tonight. We did about 8K. Nice relaxed pace. Averaged 5.42/km. Average heart rate of 163, max of 187.

Charles was feeling a bit out of shape since he hasn't been skiing as much. I haven't been biking to work since my bike accident, and there has been wet snow/sub zero temperatures the last little while. Call me a chicken, but I'm going to wait until there is no possibility of black ice or slippery patches before I start riding back to work. What it comes down to is I'm feeling out of shape.

Some things just belong

Recent Canadian visitors blessed Kate with some Crispy Crunch chocolate bars.  48 of them to be precise (Thanks Wolf and Brad).  I thought the bars might like to get a taste of their home country weather, so I put them out to enjoy the snow.

BTW, this snow stuff is excellent for chilling beer!

Keep on trying…

I got a bread maker for Christmas.  It’s fantastic!  I’ve made so many loaves that i’ve lost count.  Kate reckons I should start cataloguing them - I do keep track of the recipes I use, but now I will start taking photos.  I won’t continue to post photos (I did hear some groans out there… ) but this loaf particularly perked my photographic interest.

Bring on the not-at-all square loaf!

I’ll keep at it.  Square loaves don’t necessarily taste better you know!

Geek Test

Found this while looking at Fark.com today and thought it was amusing. I only scored a 3/50, but I do feel that many of the Slanty crowd will score higher.

This was a the original link I went to from Fark about the cost of the construction of the Death Star. The article is kind-of boring (hence my 3 out of 50), but the youtube comedy sketch by Eddie Izzard at the bottom of the article is entertaining.

Enjoi.
