On the Home front
Well, I have had a few weeks off now and have been doing some fixes/improvements to our home – things like replacing leaking wax seals on 37 yr old toilets, replacing 37 year old welded on faucets (that was a biatch), mapping out the circuit breakers while discovering non-working plugs and switches that mysteriously don’t connect to anything, and changing 37 year old light switches. This of course is all just practice for my master plan….to build a secret passage.
funny side note – wordpress actually labels “biatch” as misspelled and provides the correct spelling.

Non-working plugs and mysterious switches are all part of the package. You always wonder “what were they thinking here….?”
The welded on faucet is a good one.
Even though our house was brand new and we had a switch I could never figure out what it did. Finally figured out it switches one of the sockets on the outside of the house, for if we want to put lights down our front path.
Or for Xmas lights. I’m the only person I know of that had a real bonafide escape passage from their bedroom. And I can tell you, it’s worth the investment!
It’s not actually for xmas lights.. we have another switch (beside it) that controls a socket up near the eve’s that’s for xmas lights.. this other one is around the side of the house which made it even harder to find
It would be hard to design a secret passage sweeter than the one at Slanty 1…
The only problem with the secret passage at Slanty I was that it let in the smell of rotting milk from OJ’s car parked in the garage.
…other then that, I can’t count the number of times on my hand that I’d find a secret passage invaluable. I’m pretty sure I’d find a valid reason to use it each and every day…
