Thought I would share along the savings I was able to get from telus. Being a long time subscriber, I heard of someone who switched to VIOP with shaw from telus and got a letter wanting them to come back and pay only $16/month for a basic land line.
I called telus and told them instead of waiting for me to switch, why not offer me the deal I heard about. They agreed and also upgraded my internet to the enhanced ADSL but only pay $20[ie $10 less].. so in total im paying around $42 for a land line with voicemail and their enhanced ADSL internet.

You get your name on your labcoat!

Crap photoI know, but you get the point!
BTW my name is the second one. The first name is this guy after whom the hospital was named.

People say that when you make a resolution, you should tell people. Peer pressure is one factor in keeping your resolutions “on track”.
So, that said — Blondie and I have started using cloth diapers for the kid. Not all the time — we’ve so far tried to make it as simple and hassle free as possible, so we’re using them at home and not overnight. But still, its been really good for my soul. And much easier then I thought it would be.
Thanks to the Flying Finn and his wife for hassling us in the right direction.

So I’m heading out to a meeting today, sorta a round-table discussion type thingy. Part of this discussion will revolve around the idea of buying less stuff.
Now don’t get me wrong, I like stuff…but I also like talking, so I figured a discussion about stuff was killing two birds with one stone, and I’m all about making my life as efficient as possible.
Here’s a video. It’s a tad one sided, but most poli-eco-social things are. It’s a simplistic view of something we all know about…but it’s got pretty SlantyWars-style stick pictures so I enjoyed it.

Rock ‘n’ roll it will survive.”
