I just realized in conversation with my parents that our son’s name is going to be kind of difficult for them to pronounce, with R’s and V’s often causing problems for Cantonese speakers.

Sorry mom and dad! Maybe we’ll just have ‘em call him little T. To distinguish him from his aunties, both of which will be big T.

Uh, they offered but I turned them down.

And they were telling me that’d I’d be responsible for the kid (not) learning Cantonese as well.
