Well, the only reason I’m off of it is coz I fell down due to fatigue watching the FIRST game of the Canucks post-season.
Expected by many to crawl into the post-season, the Canucks are right in the thick of the race. And they’ve proved their perserverence too, in this first game, winning it 5-4 at the end of the fourth overtime. For some of the players, this is their first playoff game — and I’m sure its a trial by fire. Or by bag skate.
I’m amazed the players did as well as they did. Sure, they get paid to be athletes, but still. Way more mistakes in the overtimes for sure, but still. Bieksa did fantastic for somebody that was favoring his foot, he seemed to be handling the puck every other time the puck was in our zone — and Cowan has was money, continuing to throw hits and run the Stars defense. But all the players have acquited themselves admirably. Especially Luongo. Although I’m sure he had a goal he’d like back, he’s certainly done his part for the Canucks brass — putting and keeping bums in seats. After midnight!
In fairness, the Stars also looked sharp with their passing and a flow that seemed to put ours to shame. But that’s something to analyze and think about for the game tomorrow…
Go Canucks Go!

The title of the post will make sense when you look at this. You have to answer a skill-testing question to get into the website but I promise it will be worth it (well, at least if you’re a bit of a geography geek and/or you want to be able to make fun of your friends from other countries).

Shari (from my work) was in Mexico last week and said where they stayed had Pharmacies all over the place.. most of them with signs like this one. She took the picture of this hand drawn one, but apparently the same logo was on professionally printed signs and stickers..

She also said a lot of cruise ships docked there, coincidence?… unlikely…

And so it begins. With the newly crowned government forming a sort of pinnacle for the peace movement, I figure it’s only a matter of time before the murals that are so unique to Northern Ireland are gone. And as a first step in that process, this mural has now been painted over and is some sort of community outreach billboard.

Too bad, it was one of my favourites, anything with a circle around it, and a bar through it, is alright by me…

Two words that don’t go together: volleyball riot, pedal-powered roller-coaster, Alanis Morissette “My Humps”.
And a cool sailboat fountain:

I just saw another asian face in the Salt Lake City airport! Living in Vancouver with its high asian population makes you forget how much of a minority you really are.

It is 5AM and I have been awake for 23 hours. I expect to be in Boston at 5PM... Not another 12 hours but close. At times like this I am reminded of how far the West Coast is from the rest of the country. With any luck I should be able to get some sleep on the flight there. Otherwise I am going to crash pretty soon. I need my beauty sleep.
