Sorry, but my internet provider dropped the ball, so it’ll be another 2 weeks before we get high speed at home. i may die. In the meantime I’m at work, but don’t want to make a bad impression so don’t expect much

Some of you were able to come around for a potluck last week. It’s kind of a “Slanty Thanksgiving” or a third anniversary get together for the wife and I (both belated). Thanks to everybody who could make it. Getting 18 people into the house (and one stove) is a challenge, but we were up to it!

Autumn Potluck

So I’m out cruising about this sunny Thurday afternoon, driving home from running some errands.  I’ve hit an A&W earlier cause I was getting a little muchy, but because of the cheap man that I am I don’t get a drinks, cause “there’s no way in hell that I’m going to pay a buck-fitty for something that cost them 10 cents to make!”.

 So I’m getting kinda cheesed because traffic is all backed up along Grandview Highway, so I take some side streets and head over to Petcetera to pick up some food for my hungry kitties.  I wander around the corner and spot what’s been holding up traffic….a semi-trailer has lost it’s load of bottled water in the middle of the road.  So I wander over to the truck driver :

2D – “Hey man, do you need a hand?”

Trucker – “No, I’m good.  But help yourself to whatever you want.”

 2D – “Including the stuff still on the trailer?”

Trucker – “Yeah sure.”

2D – “Cool.”

 So I run around, grab the car, back it up to the trailer, and 13 flats of bottled water later the springs of my car are groaning.  I’m now in possession of more bottled water then I think I’ve drunk my entire life.

 ….that, and the cat food was 25% off.  Sweeeeet…

Can’t do anything about the time difference though.

Maybe they have this for cricket? I could use a cure for insomnia…

We booked a last minute trip to Portugal, where we spent the last 5 nights. It was, of course, magnificent. Portugal may be the nicest place on earth. And of course, pictures will follow once I get highspeed at home, which should be the middle of next week. I start work on Monday, so wish me luck!
