The last few hard drives that have given up the ghost on me are still with me, or at least partly. I’ve taken them apart and removed the hard drive platters just to have around the house. The platters are where the data is stored, and I figure that after serving as decorations and/or coasters for a bit, they’ll be near impossible to recover data from.

This guy is an example why you should be careful disposing of hard drives.

I don’t normally winge about this but it looks like the site was slammed by spam comments recently.  Akismet (which is built into WordPress) did a great job of identifying over 4000 spam comments but also left me 200 comments to moderate.

If you were posting about phamaceutical products or gambling, you may have to re-post.

Anyone ever hear of ‘SKYPE’?  Well using this internet software on your computer with a headset and mic you can make FREE calls to LANDLINES anywhere in the US and Canada.  Just thought I would throw this out to you folks that could save a buck or two on your long distance.  Dial up is NOT recommended.
