November 2005

I for one welcome our new robotic overlords

…But I wouldn’t have to, had I read How to survive a robot uprising first. Authored by somebody who just achieved his doctorate in robotics.

(PS: Where you all been?)

I am the bottleneck

I went to a meeting today, and of the 15 or so items that had to be done, a good 12 of them were for me.
Nice.

Since I'm only allocated 25% to any one project, I think I might be a bottleneck.

Post-Halloween thoughts

November 1st can be a cold and dreary day. Doubly so when you bike to work in the rain. Brrr!

33 kids came to the door in an hour and a half last night — we ran out of candy (last year, we had maybe 20 kids all night).

Next year, we’ll buy a little more candy and maybe I’ll listen to the wife when she says to be a little harder on the kids not wearing costumes.

“Why are you kneeling on my doorstep?”
“So we can look shorter.”

Uh-huh.
