Last nite, after a pefectly pleasant evening of Vij’s dinner, wonderful company and lots of wine, 24601 and I woke to the sound of cats growling – which is not exactly the most pleasant sound to be woken up to. However, things got extremely surreal when we found Jake and one of the neighbourhood cats squaring off underneath our bed. We’re still not sure how the other cat got there (was he there all evening or did he jump in from one of the windows, and if so, how?), but those are things not normally pondered at quarter to two in the morning! Uh! I think we’ll need a nap this afternoon!

There are lots of different ways to spend your cash under the CBA. The Hockey Rodent points out various ways that the Canucks could spend their bucks. As it were.

The newest Canadian Press editor’s guide contains a four-letter word between FTP and fudgsicle.
Now, it’s pretty obvious what that word is (made more obvious by the ‘rhymes with duck’ in the last sentence of the article)… But are there any other words that fill the bill?

Sometimes Starcraft is good, sometimes Starcraft is bad, and sometimes Starcraft can kill.

Will take another life, we’ll take another loss.
I feel a dry wind, dust is in my eyes.
The artic cold at night, the earth, it tells me lies.”

“Washington’s dismissal of softwood ruling prompts Ottawa to threaten sanctions”
OTTAWA and BANFF, ALTA. — Canadian anger boiled over yesterday at the U.S. government’s refusal to comply with a landmark NAFTA ruling that should have spelled an end to punitive softwood duties on lumber from Canada.
Canadian anger boiling over?! the hell you say!! World wars excluded, when did we ever get mad when there’s no puck involved? i believe sanctions include stopping canadian beer, moose, maple syrup and Bryan Adams from crossing the Canada/US border. OK maybe hydro energy too.

Yes, you heard me, I need a date for this coming Tuesday. 3d is going to be off drinking Wild Turkey, eating pounds of bacon and engaging in all sorts of bachelor party camping trip debauchery (not his bachelor party, btw). So, I’ll be in Vancouver on my own and I’m looking for something to do. Anyone up for drinks, dinner, a movie?
I’m easygoing, can hold a relatively intelligent conversation, and I pay for my own drinks. What more could you ask for?
