Amazing Goal

That goal is ridiculous. I couldn’t even get my stick that far between my legs while moving forward, I couldn’t pick up the puck like that with an hour to try and the puck in front of me, and if I placed the puck on my stick I wouldn’t be able to throw it at the net.

  • A pi pie. That’s right, I like pie.
  • A ground-level view of Google Maps
  • Imagine a permanant energy shortage. Well, actually, with gas above a dollar a liter (and it looks like its there to stay for a bit), it isn’t too hard to image. Read about the The Long Emergency.

Picture time…

I’m not sure if you’ve seen the internet explorer highlighting trick, if not (and you’re using IE) click here and then hit Ctrl-A…

Do we miss the Pope?

Well he’s gone less then a week and suddenly everything is going to heck. Self control people… or at least better timing…

To buy or not to buy…

So recently one of our VCR’s left us for that electoric playground in the sky. This leaves us with only one VCR. Not really that big of a problem but would be nice to replace it since Shaw never gave us a swich for our box (or they did and I don’t know what happened to it…)

But the short of the long is I’m wondering if either:

a) Someone has a VCR they’re looking to get rid of…

b) Are DVD recorders ready for regular purchase? Does anyone have one and\or experience with them?

Crap on a pump handle!

Crap on a pump handle…No water for two days!

With slightly stronger language, that’s a saying that the wife has used for years. And it seems strangely appropriate, because right now we have no running water, and not a lot of options for places to crap.

Drywall was being installed last night and the mother lode was inadvertently hit — ie: a cold water pipe had a screw put through it. Not just one screw either, but two, evenly spaced. Luckily we realized this in a hurry as the water started coming down immediately rather than in the middle of the night (thank goodness for small mercies).

Anyway, needless to say, we went to friends for dinner and to hang out (thanks to the SlantyK and 2K for having us), and we’re a little grubby this morning. Should be cleaned up shortly though.

When the Pope shuffles off his mortle coil…

this is what happens. I was wondering what the white smoke / black smoke ment. We’ll see how long CNN leaves us sitting watching a chimney for. I’m going to guess it’s going to be zoomed in there for at least 12 hours, with maybe a pan of St. Peters Square every once in a while to break up the chimney shot.

fire in the sky.”

Exterminate!

I happened to come into a copy of the first two episodes of the new Doctor Who over the weekend. Kate and I watched them and we both enjoyed it, imagine that. It has since come to my attention that even my attena-using-ass can watch it legally on CBC. The premiere is tomorrow at 8, and I would recommend it for one and all.

Full Disclosure: I have no frame of reference as to whether this is better or worse than the originals. I watched it once as a kid, got scared, and never really recovered.
