Depart Start on 227th Ave SE (North) (0.16mi):
Out the door and here we go! Driving in foreign cities is fun!
Road name changes to SE 48th St (0.72mi):
Why did the road name change? I didn’t turn.
Turn RIGHT (South) onto Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd SE (1.04mi):
Wait, is it Issaquah Rd or Pine Lake Rd?
Turn RIGHT (South-West) onto SE Issaquah-Fall City Rd (1.36mi):
So is Issaquah kinda like the trasition road between Pine Lake and Fall City? Is the next road Fall City-Bellevue Rd?
Turn RIGHT (West) onto SE 58th St (1.73mi):
Ah! Numbers, there’s logic there.
Road name changes to 230th Ave SE (1.91mi):
Why did the road name change again?
Turn LEFT (South) onto SE 56th St (2.68mi):
Hold on, am I going in circles here?
Road name changes to NW Sammamish Rd (3.18mi):
Again?!?!
Turn RIGHT to stay on NW Sammamish Rd (3.94mi):
!!?!!? I _know_ I was just on that road. In fact, I didn’t have to even frickin’ turn on to it last time, it just came outta nowhere.
Road name changes to W Lake Sammamish Pky SE (5.51mi):
Maybe there’s a law against roads being called a single name?
Keep RIGHT onto Local road(s) (5.54mi):
But that law would only apply if they actually have a fucking name, of course.
Bear RIGHT (North) onto SR-901 [W Lake Sammamish Pky SE] (6.42mi):
I could have _sworn_ I was just on a road with this name, but without the SR-901 attached
Bear LEFT (West) onto SE 38th St (6.67mi):
‘Keep left’, ‘bear right’, can’t you give directions like a normal person?
Road name changes to 164th Pl SE (6.93mi):
Yeah, that’d be about right
Turn LEFT (West) onto SE 35th Pl (7.56mi):
SE 38th St before, now SE 35th Pl?
Bear LEFT (West) onto SE 37th St (7.62mi):
38th to 35th to 37th? Are you fucking joking me?
Keep STRAIGHT onto SE 36th St [SE 37th St] (7.81mi):
At this point I’m _sure_ the mapping software is just laughing at me.
Turn LEFT (South) onto 150th Ave SE, then immediately turn RIGHT (West) onto SE 38th St (8.09mi):
Giving two directions at once won’t make me forget I’ve BEEN on fucking SE 38th St before you dirty son of a whore!
Road name changes to SE 36th St (9.13mi):
Of course it fucking does.
Turn LEFT (South) onto 132nd Ave SE (9.25mi):
And we’re there. Easy as pie!

I just want to add that the mapping software actually did a decent job of mapping my route, the roads around here are fucked.
Jebus, it looks like your hotel is something like 95 miles away on back roads! There has GOT to be something closer to Microsoft…or does Bill Gates own all the land in a 90 mile radius and created some kind of huge wall around it in which no hotel shall stand!
OD just picked the hotel with the cheapest beer
Expense it all under food.
looks like those directions took you onto local roads. americans hate to drive on local roads. their transportation systems are designed around freeways. any location that is more than a mile from a freeway exit is considered inaccessible.
not so big secret: american cities are all going to look like worcester in a couple decades. there’s no money to maintain the current highway infrastructure. seattle will soon need a big dig like boston, if they can afford the $14billion + mob corruption + leaky finished product.
more on seattle’s forthcoming (?) big dig. you should just invest in public transit, jerks.

the listed distances are cumulative. so the total distance: 9.25 miles.
Which makes it even worse as you’re switching between Sammamish this and Sammamish that every two blocks, and then onto a 35th (or was that a 37th) a block after that.
oh, sweet! now they’re privatizing their highways! about time, i say.

totally awesome quote:
“Californians can’t get from place to place on little fairy wings,” said Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in announcing a plan in January that could allow private investors to build toll roads. “We are a car-centered state. We need roads.”
I still like mapquest for directions. It will show you each turn you make if you want and is pretty clear cut. I also like how google is getting into the map business.
