World press photos
A collection of the World Press Photo of the Year
Some of these you have of course seen before (unless you happen to live under a rock, suffer from blindness, suffer from blinding ignorance, or happen to be the current president of the U.S.). Personally things like this raise the importance of the photo journalist in history.
This also brings up interesting questions about Iraq and Afganistan and the lack of independent photo journalists mulling around the country side. As much as I look, there isn’t much out there besides photos from the military escorted photo monkies.
<sarcasm>
I wonder why?

At least that’s what the heavily-influenced-by-the-American-war-machine media would have me believe. Yeah CNN!
Hum….that was supposed to look like :
(danger)Cause unescorted photo journalists would likely be shot in Iraq.(/danger)
Damn you internet!
