It seems smaller than before..
You saw it here first, albeit it in tiny form: the new Canadian twenty dollar bill..

And the back:

You may recognize the art on the back as an image of the big jade-green statue at the airport, which is a recreation of Bill Reid’s original-much smaller-wooden version, currently housed at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. I think.
News release here.

I think it’s actually quite snazzy. Although Queenie is showing her age. Let’s get Prince Willy on there!
I don’t want to see no prince’s willy on my money.
The security features are quite cool too.
I don’t want a face that old that close to my crotch.
That’s cool. Obviously I’m ignorant as to what the old design was, but I really like that. The US is so traditional in it’s money design, moreso than most other countries, but our new $20 bill is awesome. We finally got some color into our money and it looks great.
Why a 20? Our society runs on $50 bills, but you guys have always run on $20s
Anything that costs more than $20 is paid by credit card, not cash. Usually.
That’s cause Aussie money isn’t worth anything. It’s like monopoly money, only more durable.
And for reference for you out-o-towners, here’s the old twenty:
And the back:
We love our loons on our currency!
You got rid of the Loon?!?
The citizens of the State of Minnesota look upon you in shame!
(Definitely looks nicer, though.)
