As I was telling people today apprently REM played a short suprise set a few blocks away from the slanty.net servers, in Zulu records, this weekend. I thought it was a bit weird but it makes a bit more sense now that I know they’re recording their album here.. still I’m thinking REM live would have nothing on that Vines video that SlantyME posted about below, that thing rocks.

Here’s a strange little flash movie. I enjoyed it in a strange way, but it is strange.

Saw this cool article today and thought I would share it. They have this competition for hackers to port linux onto an Xbox and there were two areas for the competition. One to get it running on an Xbox (modified) and the other to get it running on an unmodified Xbox. The first contest was completed a while ago, but just recently someone managed to complete the second contest…using a Bond video game.

Of course, posting about hacking, linux and microsoft makes me a nerd as well Jakze.

Didn’t want to add another post (I’m not in the running for the competiton that OD and 24601 are doing) but thought that if this is what The Vines are like in concert, then I’m first in line the next time they are here!

well, i did it. i bought a second accordion. i feel like i’ve crossed the border into Full Dorkdom, Population: Jakze.

but you don’t understand. this new accordion is GREAT. it’s small, and girly, and really really really pretty, with pearly keys and shiny 20’s-looking ornamentation. see? it’s LOVELY:

and it’s in much better shape than the old one. and it’s a lot lighter, and easier to play, and the keys don’t break every few songs. but still… damn. two accordions. am i the world’s biggest dork now?

This might be a good place for 2D to pick up.. that is if he’s not frigid…
